Hong Kong's Favourite American Bake Shop Butter Comes to Singapore

For years, travellers have returned from Hong Kong with a familiar recommendation: "You have to try Butter." Now, for the first time, Singaporeans can. 

From 17 August, Hong Kong's favourite American bake shop will pop up at Messina for one month, bringing with it the freshly baked cookies that have quickly become one of the city's most sought after sweet treats. 

Butter was born from a simple idea. To recreate the feeling of walking into a neighbourhood diner somewhere in retro America, where the coffee was always flowing, the waitresses called you "darlin'" and house-made cakes and cookies marked everything from birthdays to ordinary afternoons that deserved a little sweetness. Since opening in Hong Kong in 2019, that feeling has resonated with thousands, transforming Butter from a humble bake-to-order cake shop into one of the city's most beloved bakeries. 

The latest chapter in that story is Butter Cookies. Rather than reinventing the classics, the bakery celebrates them. Freshly baked throughout the day, each cookie is inspired by the kind many grew up with, crisp around the edges, soft through the middle and made with plenty of butter. The Singapore pop-up will feature four of Butter's signature flavours: Butter's Classic, Chocolate Chunk, Lemon Crinkle and Chewy Oatmeal Raisin, all at $6 each.  

Created especially for Singapore is the MILO Dinosaur Cookie ($6), a playful nod to one of the region's favourite drinks.

For those wanting a little extra, the MILO Godzilla ($12) pairs a warm MILO Dinosaur cookie with a scoop of vanilla gelato.  

For Messina, the collaboration brings together two brands that share an appreciation for nostalgic desserts made with care. Warm cookies and freshly churned gelato are a pairing that feels both familiar and irresistible, giving guests the chance to experience Butter's newest creations without leaving Singapore.
