Introducing The Scoop: A new Chef collaboration series

Messina Singapore introduces The Scoop, a new chef collaboration series celebrating friendship, creativity and the joy of making — and eating — great dessert. 

Launching the series is none other than acclaimed Singaporean pastry chef and chocolatier Janice Wong, marking the first chapter of what will be an ongoing conversation with chefs the Messina team admire. 

At its heart, Messina has always been about friends, community and having fun, from experimenting with unexpected flavours to working closely with people they admire who are unafraid to push boundaries, to creating desserts meant to be shared. The Scoop is an extension of that spirit: a series where a rotation of chefs is invited to reinterpret their signature ideas through Messina’s gelato-first lens. 

As the inaugural collaborator, Chef Janice sets the tone for the series. Known for blurring the lines between dessert and art, her approach mirrors Messina’s own belief that dessert should spark joy, curiosity and conversation. 

The collaboration features two limited-edition creations. 

 

The first is a special gelato flavour inspired by Chef Janice Wong’s signature dessert, Snickers. Reimagined as gelato, You’re Not You When You’re Gelato’d (from $7.50), peanut butter gelato layered with salted roasted peanuts, caramel and chocolate fudge. The gelato will be available for two weeks, starting from 19 January, exclusively at Messina Singapore.

Also launching is a limited-edition bon bon box ($15), featuring two crowd-favourite gelatos, Kopi Gao and Macadamia Crunch. Designed as a tasting experience, each bon bon reflects a shared attention to detail, texture, and balance — a compact expression of what The Scoop stands for. The bon bon box will be available from 19 January with a limited quantity. 

 

With Chef Janice Wong launching the series and many exciting collaborators to come, The Scoop sets out to celebrate what happens when like-minded creators come together to experiment, have fun and make something delicious. 

 

You’re Not You When You’re Gelato’d is available from 19 January for two weeks, exclusively at Gelato Messina and limited quantity sets of bon bon are available at both Messina and Janice Wong Paragon.
